无色至淡黄色透明液体。沸点87～90(1.99kPa)。折射率1.4568。相对密度1.068。闪点73。不溶于水,溶于醇、醚和苯。可发生亲核取代反应:水解为己二醇,氨解为己二胺等。通过武尔茨反应(Würtz reaction)可分子内环合生成环己烷。
